Is the water getting hotter? Then now is the time to JUMP! A development course for Fabulous Rockstars Overcoming Guilt and Shame – FROGS.
What is it?
When you’re honest with yourself, do you know you could be doing better?
If you think you are selling yourself short – in work, in life – then this course could be for you. It is an opportunity for you to think about how you think about yourself, how you think about the world and how you think about what you deserve in life.
Power inequities, such as racism, sexism and other ‘isms’, have an impact on the way we see others and the way we see ourselves. They can influence our decisions and the way we live our lives.
Are you happy with your decisions? Were you once really comfortable with where you are? And, because you’re still there now, do you feel a bit stuck? Do you keep to the same, familiar patterns – of thinking and behaving – even though you know you could make different choices?
The aim of the course is for you to improve your personal and professional effectiveness by enabling you to review your relationship with yourself, recognise and further develop your own skills and abilities, reset your goals and build a support network to encourage and celebrate with you as you take action to be the you you want to be.
Who is it for?
You know you’re a rockstar. But do you behave like a frog, sitting in the, for now, comfortably warm water? Are you aware that the temperature is slowly but steadily rising? Will you stay and boil? Or are you ready to jump?
This course is for people who are open to reassessing their lives and to new ways of thinking; to revisiting their aspirations and to setting new goals, and to taking action to achieve those goals alongside others who are doing the same.
What does it consist of?
The five days of this course are delivered at monthly intervals over four months.
- Days 1 and 5 are held in person.
- Days 2, 3, and 4 are held online.
There will be input, small group work, large group discussion, relaxation and visualisations, individual reflection and goal setting.
The course will be practical and participative to enable you to consider your own, real situations, share experiences, try things out and develop practical strategies to move you forward to be the you you know you can be.
There will also be
- individual work between workshop days
- peer group support and networking
- guest speakers
- the option to be part of a support network beyond the course
What does it cover?
During the course, you will:
- consider the impact of power inequities in society and the implications for you.
- consider how our brains work and the effect on your thinking.
- reflect on your own behaviour and identify personal patterns and preferences.
- consider attachment theory and transactional analysis theory to better understand yourself and the dynamics in your relationships with others.
- consider how you support or sabotage yourself and how to manage guilt and shame.
- consider your own power and how you use it.
- acknowledge your own skills and identify ways to develop them further.
- explore practical ways to build your personal effectiveness.
- set some goals and identify the practical action points to turn them into reality.
- build networks to give and get support as you ‘jump’.
